Please Help :-)

I recently purchased a 5 year old paint gelding.  I have the registration for his sire but not his dam.  I also don't know his registered name.  Is there a way to acquire his papers with only knowing his sires history?   I was told he has papers out there somewhere.

Hi Rosie49410:

If your paint gelding was registered and you have the sire's registration information your best bet is to start by contacting the Registry of your geldings sire.  They may be able to help.  Perhaps you can get a list of his colts born that year (If you have an exact date of birth it will help) you might be able to work your way thru those and come up with your gelding.  Nowadays many of the registries require a photo of all registered horses, which is attached to their registration certificate. Do you have any idea what your geldings full registered name is?

Please let me know what you find out.  Good luck..........Linda
