has anyone heard of snow parasites and what is the effect on a horse.??? some people call them snow worms.

No, but I wonder what they do. I'm a beginner, so I haven't learned much about horses. In fact, I only started riding last month(11/2012) on a weekly basis. I am good with coat colors, though, and I just groom my horse, Sunshine(she's a palimino mare), and ride on a trail with my instructor.

I have never heard of this I wonder what they are refering to? Winter ticks? Parasites that are dorminate during the snowy season. Bots are bad depending on where you are located at they will crawl into the gut during the winter time.
