Charles Town Classic

The Charles Town Classic is an American Thoroughbred horse race for older horses (four-year-olds and up) and is run at Charles Town Races & Slots in Charles Town, West Virginia. An ungraded stakes race, it's set at a distance of 1 mile and 1/8th on the dirt.

This race was inaugurated on April 18, 2009.

2009 - Tiered Purse ($500,000 - $1,000,000)

In 2009, if the winner had previously won a Grade 1 Stakes Race, then the purse was $1,000,000. If the winner had previously won a Grade 2 Stakes Race, then the purse was $750,000. If the winner had previously won a Grade 3 Stakes Race, then the purse was $600,000. If the winner had never before won a Graded Stakes Race, then the purse was $500,000.
