D.C. McKay Stakes

The D.C. McKay Stakes is a Group 3 Australian Thoroughbred horse race for horses aged three years old and over, over a distance of 1100 metres.

It is held at Morphettville Racecourse in Adelaide.

1968 - 1972 held over 6 furlongs (approx. 1200m)
1973 held over 1200m
1974 - 1979 held over 1100m
1980 - 1981 held over 1450m
1982 - 1984 held over 1200m
1985 - 2001 held over 1100m
2002 held over 1000m
2003 onwards held over 1100m.

1968 – 1979 was a Principal Race
1980 onwards Group 3

1968 - 1997 the race was known as the ‘D.C. McKay Stakes’
1998 - 2004 the race was known as the ‘Honda Stakes’
2005 the race was known as the ‘Malaysia Airlines Stakes’
2006 onwards the race has been called the ‘D.C. McKay Stakes’.
