Futurity Stakes (Ireland)

The Futurity Stakes is a Group 2 flat horse race in Ireland which is open to two-year-old thoroughbreds. It is run at Fairyhouse over a distance of 7 furlongs (1,408 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in August.

The event was formerly classed at Group 3 level, and it used to be held at the Curragh. For a period it was usually contested over 1 mile. Its distance was cut to 7 furlongs in 1997, and it was promoted to Group 2 status in 2001. The race was transferred to its present venue, Fairyhouse, in 2009.
