Currently standing at Shadwell Stud, Green Desert is the sire of four Champion Sprinters and seventy-two individual Stakes winners. He is best known for his son, Cape Cross who in turn sired both the 2004 and 2006 European Horse of the Year, Ouija Board, and 2009 superhorse, Sea the Stars.
