Mariano Aguerre born May 25, 1969 in Pilar, Buenos Aires Province is an Argentine polo player and one of the few players with a 10-goal handicap. At the moment, he is ranked number six [1].




Like Adolfo Cambiaso, Mariano was trained by Gonzalo Pieres Sr. and played for the Ellerstina Polo Team, with which he won the “Triple Crown” (Argentine Open, Hurlingham Open and Copa Anchorena) in 1994. But his international career as a professional player started even earlier, when he won the USPA Gold Cup with the White Birch Team in 1987. Seven more USPA Gold Cups followed, other important wins include the Sotogrande Gold Cup and the Whitney Cup.

He participated 15 times in the Argentine Open, won 7 times and took part in the final another 2 times [2]. In Argentina, he is part of the La Dolfina Polo Team, together with Adolfo Cambiaso, Bartolomé Castagnola and Lucas Monteverde, where he usually plays on position 3.


Mariano is married to Tatiana Pieres, daughter of Gonzalo Pieres Sr. He has two daughters, Sophie and Lola, and one son (Antonio).
