Merry Sovereign was a horse ridden by Clarissa Strachan. He is the only horse to have competed in the Badminton Horse Trials for six successive years, from 1976 to 1981. He also won a gold medal at the 1977 European Championships at Burghley, and a silver at the 1979 Championships at Luhmühlen.[1]
