The Middleton Stakes is a Group 2 flat horse race in Great Britain which is open to thoroughbred fillies and mares aged four years or older. It is run at York over a distance of 1 mile, 2 furlongs and 88 yards (2,092 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in May.

It was formerly an ungraded event, and for a period it was restricted to three-year-old fillies only. The present version for older fillies was established in 1997, and it was initially classed at Listed level. It was promoted to Group 3 in 2004, and to its current status, Group 2, in 2010. [1]

The Middleton Stakes is held during York's three-day Dante Festival meeting, and it is usually run on the same day as the Dante Stakes.
