2009 Racing Season

A big chestnut colt, Misremembered did not race at 2 breaking his maiden in his second start. His maiden was his the only time he finshed out of the money when he came 6th. The American Chestnut race horse major race wins came in the grade II Swaps Stakes, going wire to wire. The Colt proved more than versatile when he took the grade II Indiana Derby, setting the stakes record later on in 2009. With his performance in 2009 he has thus made his sire Candy Ride one of the best second crop sires in America.

2010 Racing Season

Strub Stakes

Misremembered made his four year debut in early February in the Grade II Strub Stakes at Santa Anita. He lost by a neck.

Santa Anita Handicap

Misremembered came into his own on March 6, 2010,when he showed enough poise to give Baffert his first big win of the season. The colt won the $750,000 Santa Anita Handicap, holding off fast-closing Neko Bay The victory was Misremembered's first after three consecutive runner-up finishes (Clark Handicap. Malibu Stakes, and Strub Stakes, putting Baffert in the winner's circle as trainer and owner.

The win was also a memorable moment for him and his sire, the undefeated Candy Ride, because he outran the conceptions of him being more of a sprint horse and of his sire's ability to produce horses with endurance.

Misremembered was gifted by Baffert's wife, Jill, who kissed him on the nose as he was led into the winner's circle.
