The Prix Imprudence is a Group 3 flat horse race in France which is open to three-year-old Thoroughbred fillies. It is run at Maisons-Laffitte over a distance of 1,400 metres (about 7 furlongs), and it is scheduled to take place each year in April.

History

The event is named after Imprudence, a successful French-trained filly whose victories included three Classics in 1947. It was established in 1949, the same year as the equivalent race for colts, the Prix Djebel. The race was originally contested over a mile, and it was cut to its present length in 1961. For a period it was classed at Listed level, and it was promoted to Group 3 status in 2009.

The Prix Imprudence serves as a trial for the first fillies' Classics of the European flat season. Seven winners have subsequently achieved victory in the 1,000 Guineas Stakes, most recently Natagora in 2008. The last to win the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches was Elusive Wave in 2009.
