Rip Van Winkle (foaled 2006 in Ireland) is an Irish thoroughbred racehorse. He won two of England's biggest mile races in 2009: the Sussex Stakes and the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes. He also ran second to Sea The Stars in the Eclipse Stakes after finishing fourth behind him in both the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket in May and the Epsom Derby in June. His 2009 season concluded with a disappointing run in the Breeders' Cup Classic behind Zenyatta, possibly due to a mix of his ongoing foot problems and the strains of a long season.

He will remain in training as a 4 year old with Aidan O'Brien.
