Tetrarch Stakes

The Tetrarch Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in Ireland which is open to three-year-old thoroughbred colts and fillies. It is run at the Curragh over a distance of 7 furlongs (1,408 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in late April or early May.

The event is named after the Irish-born racehorse The Tetrarch, a highly acclaimed two-year-old in 1913, and a champion sire in 1919. The race can serve as a trial for the Irish 2,000 Guineas, and the most recent horse to win both contests was Desert King in 1997.
