The True North Handicap is an American Thoroughbred horse race run annually in early June at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. The race is a Grade II event offers a purse of $200,000 and is open to three-year-olds and up who are willing to race six furlongs (1,207 m) on dirt. [1]

The True North is named for the winner of the 1945 Fall Highweight Handicap, True North.

In winning the 1987 edition of the True North Handicap, Groovy earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 134. [2]
