Villiers Stakes

The Villiers Stakes is a Group 2 Australian thoroughbred horse race held at Randwick Racecourse, Sydney in December. The event is an open handicap run over a distance of 1600 metres. Prizemoney is AUD$200,000.

  • 1892 - 1901 The race distance was 6 furlongs.
  • 1902 - 1971 The race distance was 8 furlongs.
  • 1972 - 2006 The race distance was 1600 metres.
  • 2007 - moved to January 2008 with a race distance of 1400 metres under Quality weight conditions.
