Winter Stakes


The Winter Stakes is a Group 1 Australian Thoroughbred horse race held under Weight for Age conditions, for fillies and mares aged three years old and upwards, over a distance of 1400 metres. Total prizemoney for the race is AUD$500,000 with $320,000 going to the winner. The race was first run in 1989. It is conducted by the Queensland Turf Club at the Eagle Farm in June. This race is the final Group 1 race of the season in Australia.
